It is a bumpy appearance of the skin due to the swelling of cells under the skin. When fat increases, the fat tissue loses its flexibility and becomes rigid.

Depending on the woman’s body type, some women will generally store more fat naturally, the connective tissue which connects fat to the muscle under the skin forms fat pockets, which bulges and shows off as cellulite.

Now that you have decided to take action against cellulite, it is important to note the two facets of the issue: Fat and skin structure. With consistent effort on your part it is possible to reduce (even get rid of) cellulite. These next points will show you how to start getting rid of your cellulite and get back your sexy thighs.

Massage:
Massage gently for ten minutes every day in a circular motion in the areas of cellulite. You can use massage creams for cellulite reduction or normal massage soap which have scrubby texture which helps to remove dead cells, toxins and even out the skin. You can use natural exfoliates, lime, sugar and coffee. They are very safe, and the caffeine content helps to firm the skin. You can massage olive oil, avocado oil or oil rich in vitamin E to make you skin firm and healthy.

Eat and drink right:
Eating healthy plays an important role in any fat reduction program. Eating a lot of fiber helps your body drive away the toxins and the known culprit “fat”. Yes, it is obviously due to fat and hence eat lots of vegetables, fruits, grains and leafy vegetables. Proteins in nuts help to repair the damaged parts of the collagen. Avoid eating greasy and fried foods as these foods have high saturated and trans fats. Follow these simple dietary steps.

  • Know your BMI.
  • Take in the right number of calories.
  • Drive away excess calories by exercising.
  • Avoid junk foods.
  • Take lot of fluids and water which helps in detoxification.

Essential fatty acids:
Essential fatty acids get destroyed due to mechanisms to increase the shelf life of products. These EFAs that are used by many parts in the body for proper functioning, when become shortage, the available amount is utilized for the most important parts of the body like heart, and thus skin is deprived of EFAs. Take EFA supplements in addition to a balanced diet and consult your doctor regarding the same.

Give your body a jerk:
A brisk walk of twenty to thirty minutes in empty stomach daily can give you wondrous results. It is the simplest yet effective form of exercising. Do both leg lunges and squats at least three times a week. You can also combine these with jumping and push-ups alternatively to form a cycle. Do this set of workouts twenty times each with three sets of repetition. If you follow this exercise routine religiously, you can see fabulous changes in six weeks. If you have time, combine these with strength and resistance training which are sure to show the transformation.

Follow a balanced diet, a healthy lifestyle and exercise regime. You can, if you are determined to, and you will be sure to regain your beautiful structure and confidence too.

The main thing to remember is, don’t give up! Keep at it everyday and you should begin to notice that the “mushiness” begins to pass and that you begin to get softer, smoother, and healthier looking (and feeling) skin.

I just learned from your site to massage using coffee grounds to help get rid of cellulite. Does this work on the backs of thighs as well? I just saw a picture of the back of my thighs and I didn’t realize how bad they looked!
