Eat Your Way to Perfect Skin

It is every woman’s dream to have perfect and flawless skin. When you have glowing and blemish-free skin, make-up doesn’t seem so important anymore, does it? While it is a great idea to maintain or strive for perfect skin by applying moisturizers and other skin treatments, you should know that perfect skin could also be achieved by eating the right kinds of food. In fact, if you adjust your diet, you will have no trouble maintaining your good complexion. Your inner glow will make your skin looks lovely.

So how do you eat your way to perfect skin?

Indulge in Salmon
Yes, this delicious type of fish will help you achieve perfect, young-looking skin. This so-called “oily” fish is perfect in providing moisture to your skin. The Omega-3 fatty acid found in salmon helps prevent aging and minimizes inflammations in your skin. This allows your skin to remain soft and firm.

Stock Up On Vitamin C
There is a reason most skin care products include Vitamin C. If Vitamin C is good for your skin when applied topically, what more can it do when it is ingested? Vitamin C can prevent acne and keep your complexion clear. It is also helpful in the production of collagen, which is an important element in moisturizing skin and maintaining its elasticity. Make sure that you eat Vitamin C rich foods such as fruits – kiwis, oranges, lemons and grapefruits. Not only will your skin look great, your immune system will also improve.

Dark Chocolate is Your Friend
If you’re a chocolate lover, you’ll be happy to know that dark chocolate is great for keeping your skin flawless. Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants that protect your skin against sun damages. It also helps relax your arteries, which results in improved blood circulation and give you that healthy, glowing complexion.

Snack on Nuts
Your skin can benefit from your snacking, just make sure that your snacks include nuts and almonds. These nuts are great sources of Vitamin E, which everyone knows is a great vitamin for your skin. Your skin will suffer from less irritations and redness, leaving it supple to the touch.

Love Your Green Leafy Veggies
Even your skin craves for green and leafy vegetables. Take a page from Popeye’s book and eat a lot of spinach. The antioxidants found in this vegetable will give you a glowing, moisturized complexion.

Avoid Sugar
Sugar is also one of the major culprits of skin aging. Too much of it will lead to a dull-looking complexion. Avoid taking too much sugar to achieve that flawless complexion and smaller waistline. Give up those sugary pastries and watch out for foods with hidden sugar. Cut back on sweetened juices and syrups, and you’ll see a drastic change in the quality of your skin.

Cut Back on Alcohol
Too much alcohol will make your skin dehydrated and dull. Such is the dulling effect of alcohol in your system. Cut back on cocktails and beer on your nights out with friends, and put in more effort into keeping your skin healthy from within.

Learning to eat well for your skin could be challenging at first, but once you get the hang of it, it will come much easier for you. It will be worth it.

I think I need to depend on the above things more and makeup less, especially because the one I just started using has had a completely terrible reaction on my skin and I’ve broken out worse than I have in quite a while. If I can use the above suggestions and my skin can reflect the changes I’ve been making in my diet then I’ll be so relieved to not have to rely on makeup so much.
