Got Cellulite On Your Legs And Other “Trouble Spots”?

Cellulite is one of the leading causes of frustration among women in the world today. Some researches claim that as much as 95% of women suffer from cellulite of some kind.

The most troublesome area seems to be at the top of the legs. This can limit the clothes that you are able to wear and many avoid swimming altogether, but there are ways that you can greatly reduce or get rid of the cellulite altogether.

But first, you need to know what Cellulite is. And then, what you can start doing, today, to begin to reduce or even eliminate it from your body.

What is Cellulite?
The top layer of skin is known as the epidermis; below it is the dermis which is where the hairs that grow on our bodies and sweat glands are contained. This layer also contains the connective tissues. Beneath this layer you have a subcutaneous fat level whether you are overweight underweight or in-between. The next layer is another layer of fat. It is the first layer that can cause a dimpled appearance, which is what we know as cellulite.

The reason some people suffer from cellulite and others do not is that their connective tissues spread differently. In those that suffer, the tissues tend to be more localized and bunched up pushing the fat outwards, where as those that don’t have tissues that keep the fat inward so it is not apparent. It is more common in women, but some men suffer from cellulite too.

What can I do about it?
The first thing you can do is change your diet. If you follow a healthier lifestyle that includes lots of fiber and whole grains your body will find it easier to remove the toxins in your system. Eating more fruit and vegetables can also help. Stay hydrated as this helps the body to get rid of the fat it doesn’t need and can increase collagen strength so that the troubled area doesn’t look as bad.

Knowing your fats can help you along your way. There are good fats and bad fats. Good fats that are contained in fish and most nuts can help the skin where as bad fats that are contained in fast food, processed food and snacks such as chips can really add to the effect making the cellulite look even worse.

Carrying extra weight can also make cellulite look worse, so taking exercise is extremely important in helping reduce the amount of visible cellulite. You could take up swimming, walking, even yoga or Pilates. Not only will it help to get rid of the cellulite, it will also make you feel better, healthier and happier!

Massaging the area with a special soap or tough brush can help break down the fluids that are underneath the skin. IT helps to make the skin look more even and reduces the appearance of cellulite. Creams that contain caffeine are also great as they help to tighten up the skin. Exfoliators that contain caffeine are another alternative.

Conclusion:
No matter what anyone claims, there is no fast way to get rid of cellulite. You have to work to get the results you want, but in the end it will pay off when you can once again wear the clothes you have always wanted to.

    I’ve been trying to remove my cellulite and I got this after I gave birth to my son a few years ago. You are definitely right that it takes hard work and change of lifestyle because right now I am still gaining weight so I just realized that I have to do something. Thanks for sharing this and it did wake me up to do something with my cellulite.

      I had the same issue after I had my son and man was it tough to get rid of the cellulite. I managed to get rid of most of it but I still have some little trouble spots as well.

    I have been struggling with cellulite for a long time and have made some headway but I still don’t seem to get the results I am looking for. I run every day and eat right, even replacing meals with protein drinks. Is there anything else I should be doing?

    Great points, especially about Fats… most people think they need to get ride of fat on their diet but i think if you eat enough fruits and vegetables with healthy fats such as organic coconut oil, good olive oil and Avocado most people avoid it saying it’s fattening, this is such a great fruit with lot of benefits…is it a fruit? Absolutely love this article!

    I have a bit of cellulite on my legs and I am looking for a way to get rid of it. I didn’t know about caffeine being effective against cellulite. I will be look for such creams and use them as I’m curious if they will work for me. I am also going to start going to the gym 2-3 times weekly and exercise my legs which will likely help.

    I have been using a special soap with a tough brush to help break down the fluids that are underneath the skin as you recommend and it works great. Takes a while, but it works.

    I definitely noticed that improving my diet reduce my cellulite. I stopped eating processed stuff and started the Paleo diet a while back and my cellulite reduced considerably…and I also lost some weight.

    I suggest everyone to focus on exercise and eating well, like the article said. There is no miracle cream to get rid of cellulite…believe me, I’ve tried them all :((

    I am still waiting for scientists to create a magic machine or formula that will target and eliminate cellulite instantly. Until that happens, I just keep doing cardio! :)

    I would suggest people not to use any pills and stuff like that when trying to fight with the cellulite. I know some people who have tried it and it is actually pointless. Waste of money and the results are not better than without the diet pills. Just work hard and you’ll soon notice differences when looking into the mirror.

    No matter how much you workout, if you don’t eat clean and healthy, you will never get rid of that darn cellulite. The thing is that you don’t need a short diet; you have to make a permanent change and eat healthy on a daily basis. Have a big, nutritious breakfast, a nice lunch and a smaller dinner, plus two or three snacks in between. Skipping meals is actually one of the most frequent cases of cellulite, because in lack of nutritious meals, your body starts depositing fat.
